Access Control readers can be integrated and hidden beneath the glass tops, ensuring a solution that is attractive, while LED lighting within the glass blades lends an air of technology to each device. SpeedBlade for DDA applications
The Electro SpeedBlade Wide is an exceptionally clever device which uses telescopic glass wings to increase the available entrance with to meet DDA requirements.
With a passage width of 900mm the Electro SpeedBlade Wide allows wheelchair access as well as equipment such as cleaning machines and trolleys.
When configured in a row with standard SpeedBlades, the SpeedBlade wide is a perfect match, sharing the same aesthetics and cabinet footprint.
The specially shaped and ergonomically designed 10mm thick toughened glass blades (with flame polished edges) of the SpeedBlade quickly retract within the cabinet body when a command is received. LED lighting in red and green is programmable to show the passage status and raise alarms if required. The SpeedBlade can also be programmed to be always open, and extend the blade to close the lane if a signal is not received.
The fast efficient operation and sleek good looks makes the SpeedBlade an obvious choice for all areas including offices, industry, colleges, hotels and leisure.

Cabinet: Brushed stainless steel cabinet with oval sides and a flat vertical face. Integrated access panels provide entry for maintenance and storage for controllers if not desk mounted.
Top: XXmm deep top, stainless steel/glass/timber/polystone. Integrated and flush windows at either end to house the LED status indicator and provide space for a proximity card reader.
Glass panels: 10mm thick toughened safety glass with polished edges fully retract into the cabinet.
Operation: Can be open or closed. When in closed mode the lane opens upon from a signal sent by an authorised user. The turnstile can be controlled in either a manual or automatic mode. In manual mode, the blades are opened/closed according to the command from a control panel often positioned at a reception desk or a remote position. In the automatic mode, the blades are opened/closed from a signal sent from the access control system. The turnstile blades are opened/closed in 0.8 seconds providing a high traffic flow capacity (up to 30 persons per minute).
Sensors: Flush mounted sensors along the length of the unit provide efficient bi-directional access control to authorised users. If tailgating is attempted the lane will close, the glass blades will illuminate red and an integrated alarm will sound.
Fail safe: In the case of power voltage failure both access directions are free.
